Clay Shirky - TedTalk

Sorry for the incredible lack of updates on the site - bit it's been hectic. And still is in fact. So, this will be a short one. Just saw this talk by one of my personal heroes, Clays Shirky, and thought I'd share it with you all. I hope you'll enjoy it as much as I did.

They've done it again....to a T! ;-)

So....you may have seen my post on the T-mobile flashmob TVC from a while ago. Well..they've done it again. This time they managed to gather around 14000 people in Trafalgar Square - people with no idea about why they were there. Throw in a few mics and a classic tune....and you have the worlds most amazing karaoke ad. Enjoy!

The ultimate mashup!!!

I love YouTube - and all the people who take time and effort to make it the best damn waste of time in the world.....only second to Facebook perhaps.

Anyway. Here's someone who really put their YouTube surfing to work. The album "Thru You" is entirely produced from bits of YouTube content - and it's all credited. So stealing is OK - even if you are caught....as long as you admit it up front.

Enjoy - it's just genious!

The curios case of 2 movies, one script!

The Curious Case of Forrest Gump - Watch more

I thought it reminded me of something I had seen before!

Nuff said.

More Augmented Reality

So here's another bit of Augmented Reality that really rocks - and from a company that does nothing but AR.

Check out this little video of a project they did for Mini.

video

It's very cool and I love the way it ties in with the print execution. Another great way to drive (pardon the pun) people from one media to another.

Lego, BMW and GE have also seen the light with Metaio......so no doubt I'll have more examples to come ;-)

Stay real....sorta.

T-mobile goes truly viral

Charlie Todd, eat your heart out:

After watching this amazing T-Mobile ad, in which a bunch of “random” commuters start dancing together at exactly the same time at Liverpool Street Station in London, Facebook user Crazzy Eve posted an event inviting friends to recreate the scene. Last Friday, that’s exactly what happened. Thousands upon thousands descended on the same station featured in the ad, and at precisely 7:00 p.m., they started dancing.

While less artful than its inspiration, there are a number of remarkable things about this event (not least of which is that T-Mobile is getting a hefty return on its advertising dollar). The number of people who showed up—on short notice, with little prompting—is simply staggering, but perhaps more noteworthy is that, as CNN reported, no arrests were made, no one was hurt, and no one seems to have complained about the inevitable missing of trains. Have this many people ever gotten together in such a small space with less of a negative impact?

The success of this outing has prompted organizers to schedule others like it in various locations around London, results TBD. While I don’t advocate turning these events into some sort of impromptu dance-a-thon for peace, I hope that in the future this many people might be inspired to gather for some purpose beyond recreating a mobile phone ad.

P.S: This blogpost is entirely copied from GOOD - haven't had the time to blog recently......so opted for something "borrowed".
